This is a list of additions and improvements that will be added to this section at a later date. Each item is in the order that I intend to do them and should only be used as a guideline.

Correct any errors reported by visitors.
Add the further classification of the subgenera.
Add information on all Notocactus related publications to the Bibliography file.
Add distribution information.
Add information about relationships with other Genera Parodia, Frailea, Blossfeldia etc.
Add a lot more info to the Field Collectors file.
Add a list of hybrids.
Add a diagram showing relationships between the subgenera, sections, etc.
Write a Key. (Only to identify Subgenera to begin with).
Add some "interesting things about Noto's".
Add some info on the classification of Y. Ito.

What's New ?

This is a list of additions since the last update:

May 2001
1. Some additions/corrections made to the species lists.
2. Some additions to the cactus photo section. A list of the additional photo's can be found on this page
3. The translation page has had a few more additions.
April 2001
1. The translation page has had considerable additions and has been split into two smaller documents.
November
1. Some additions to the species lists.
September
1. All of the forms have been enhanced with Javascript validation, which just means they will now do some checking to make sure any required info is included.
2. Enhancements have been made to the site to improve the appearance of a page when printed. Which just means any detail which is not relevant to printed output should not be printed. However, this will only work if your browser supports this feature. (Internet Explorer V 4/5, but not so well by V5.5 !! and Opera do, but Netscape Navigator does not at this time.)
3. The cactus photograph section has been totally redone. All of the old poor quality pics have been dumped and replaced. There are now two major sections, the first entirely of Notocactus photographs the other is of Turbinicarpus photographs. There are also a few miscellaneous photographs.
4. A PDF version (143K) of the German translation of the Notocactus cultivation page has been added.
5. The usual fixing / removal of broken links.

1. Many Spanish additions to the cactus translation page.

March 2000
1. The Wolfgang Gemmrich field numbers have been updated. It now contains genera other than Notocactus together with locality data.
2. The Notocactus field numbers have been updated to show the current name for the particular plants.
January 2000
1. The field number list for Norbert Gerloff has been expanded.
October 1999
1. The document describing the IOS Consensus classification of Notocactus has been updated.
2. A few additions and corrections to the Field Collectors file.
3. The format of the documents listing all the files in a directory has been altered.
4. The format of the comments form has been altered.
August 1999
1. The classification according to the IOS Consensus has been updated.
2. Additions to the species lists to include the new names bought about because of the IOS Consensus.
3. Additions to the bibliography.
July 1999
1. A document on cultivation has been added.
March 1999
1. Few additions to the Etymology page.
2. Additions to the species lists.
3. Few minor alterations.
January 1999
1. The whole site has been upgraded to comply with the latest version of the HTML specification, HTML 4.0.
2. The description translation page has been expanded.
3. The "ALT Texts" of the navigation buttons have been made more informative.
November 1998
1. Updated the Etymology page.
2. Small additions to the species lists.
