Notes

This taxon was originally named T. schmiedickeanus var. panarottoi, but was not validly published. Namely the type was not listed. See ICBN Articles 37.3 and 37.4.

The new name is for Edward F. Anderson who first collected this plant, but miss identified it with T. klinkerianus in his 1986 revision of the genus Neolloydia (Bradleya 4: 1-28, 1986.).

Clarke Brunt has some habitat photos of this taxon on his Mexican home page.

It is also believed to be a species which links the klinkerianus aggregate with the schmiedickeanus aggregate.
