Turbinicarpus macrochele ssp. frailensis

Lateinisch: A subspecie typica lobis stigmaticis minus numerosis (3-6 versus 6), albis vel flavoalbis, solum 2 usque ad 3,5 mm longis, rectis, solum paulo papillosis et florescentia initio anni differt.

Subsp. frailensis unterscheidet sich von subsp. macrochele durch die mit 3 - 6 geringere Anzahl der Narbenlappen, diese sind weiß bis gelblichweiß, nur 2 - 3.5 mm lang und gerade ausgerichtet, sowie nur schwach papillös; weiters durch nur eine Blühperiode zu Beginn des Jahres.
