Stem: simple, bright green, globular, with time slightly cylindrical; diameter up to 5 cm, height up to 7 cm. Root: ± napiform. Tubercles: compressed sideways; when old drying out. Intersections of the spiral: 6-10-16. Axil: bare. Areole: elongated, white, with abundant wool in the area of new growth. Radial Spines: 15-25, pectinate, chalk-white in colour, I = 2-3 mm. Central Spines: 0-1, from the apical part of the areole, reddish to yellow base and darker tip; it is slightly longer and stronger than the radial spines and forms an angle of 45° with the stem. Flowers: dimensions 3 x 3 cm, funnel-shaped, whitish-purplish with darker mid-stripe. Stigma: white, with 6-10 lobes. Fruit: spherical, purplish-red, 8-10 mm wide; dehising vertically; flower remains stay attached. Seeds: blackish, reniform.

Habitat: Mexico, S. Luis Potosi.
